BBSSSA Open Basketball Championships 2018

Monday, 19 Feb 2018 1:50 PM

The BBSSSA Open Basketball Championships ran well with no major injuries reported.

The  Broken Bay students played well and exhibited good behaviour and sportsmanship in hot and humid conditions.

The boys played a round robin tournament with a minimum of six games including some back to back games.

It was hot however all teams had enough players and enjoyed the opportunity of playing each team at

least once.

The girls played in pools with 1 v 2 crossovers. The third and fourth placed

teams played against each other in a play off round to make a minimum of four games.

Our thanks must go to the team at Gosford City Basketball Stadium especially Sue

Maartens (referees co-ordinator who does an exceptional job) as well as Julia and Kate for

their assistance and support. Thank you also to the eight students from St Joseph's that

did bench duty all day.

Congratulations to our victorious schools; St Edward's College, East Gosford and Stella Maris College, Manly

St Edwards defeated St Leos 23-19
