NSW All Schools and Australian Schools Football

The Australian School Boys U/16 Football Championships and team selections were held last week in Shepparton in Victoria. Connor Rose in Year 11 at St Leo's College played for the NSW All Schools team after being selected earlier in the year when playing for NSW Combined Catholic Colleges. Connor has been named as vice captain of the NSW side and was confident of a number of strong performances in an attempt to be named in the Australian schoolboys side. This comes a year after Connor’s older brother Lachlan was named in the Australian School boy’s side.

After strong performances throughout the tournament, which lead to being named as NSW Most Valuable Player and also the golden boot winner for the whole competition, Connor was named in the U/16 Australian School boy’s team. This team travels to England at the end of the year and will play against National Teams from England, Wales, and Scotland along with academy teams from some of the top Premier League clubs. Connor follows in the footsteps of his older brother Lachlan (ex-student St Leo's College) who was in the U/18 team last year. Connor is travelling to the UK later this term for trials with a number of clubs before his schoolboy commitments. We look forward to hearing about Connor’s experiences!
