BBSSSA Netball Championships 2017

Another great day of netball for BBSSSA students!

Nine schools were in attendance with competition across four year divisions and 35 teams. The Junior/Intermediate and Senior divisions saw very close competition, particularly between the top 4 sides.

We utlised the indoor court for the second consecutive year and I believe that this should be maintained for all future years as it is a nice opportunity for our girls to play in such a venue and minimises the stress on the bodies of our elite senior athletes.

This year five  schools contested the final divisional games with Mount St Benedict College featuring in all four finals. Congratulation to the three schools who eventually took home titles - Mount St Benedicts (Seniors/Y7), St Peters (Intermediates) and MacKillop (Juniors).

Thanks again to Lisette Smith (ex MSB Parent) who coordinated umpires (including a National ‘A’ badged umpire) prior to and during the event, to Cate Newman and Anthony Maxworthy from Hills District Netball Association for opening the venue for the carnival and providing a full canteen for the day and to MSB staff for manning the control room all day. 

It was great to have Mount St Benedict Principal Maria Pearson in attendance to support the day and present the trophies and medals.

Max from 'Photos in a Flash' was present at the carnival and team photos were taken prior to the commencement of play in addition to action shots throughout the day.
