BBSSSA Water Polo Gala - Open

Event: BBSSSA Open Water Polo Gala Day  

Date: Friday 25th October 2019

Venue: Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, Homebush

Age Groups: Open Girls and Open Boys 

Commencing Time: TBA: Depending on entries 

Concluding Time: TBA: depending on entries 

Rules and Regulations

• Teams are open age teams
• All schools will get a minimum of 3 games.
• Schools may enter 1 girls and 1 boys team only

Equipment:

• All schools will need to supply one set of dark and one set of light caps (please notify Jenny Wickham asap if you do not have caps and we will arrange a set for all games). Balls will be supplied for all games.
• Girls will play with a regulations women’s competition balls
• Boys will play with a regulations men’s competition ball
• It is recommended that all players wear a mouthguard
• Players should wear a swimming cap underneath water polo cap
• One piece swimming costume to be worn (girls). No bikinis under costumes

Referees and Officials:

• NSW water polo referees are supplied. One referee per game
• Scorers will be supplied for each game
• Game Duration: Will be determinded once entries have been received.
• Schools must be in pool ready to commence at correct game time. Games will commence on time.
• Finals will play 4 x 5min quarters (running time)
• The first named team on the draw will wear light caps. 

Rules: 

• Competition will play FINA rules
• There will be no shot clock
• Only 11 players may take part in each game (5 field players and 1 goalie iin the pool at one time)
• Substitutions as per normal FINA rules.

First Aid: 

• First Aid will be supplied 
• All players should ensure that fingernails and toe nails are cut short
