BBSSSA Water Polo Championships 2016

Monday, 7 Nov 2016 11:46 AM

The 2016 Broken Bay Water Polo Championships was held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Friday 21st October 2016. It was a great carnival with all some outstanding water polo being played on the day.

We had 7 girls teams and 6 boys teams playing in the Championhsips. The draw for the boys and girls divisions was quite different, so as to try and allow all teams to play as many games as possible. Pools were seeded according to last years results, which seemed to work well. The length of the game is set according to the number of teams that enter, as we have to fit as many games as possible into a limited time.

All teams did a great job of making sure they were in the pool on time to start each game, so we remained on schedule for the whole day. A big thank you to the teachers/coaches who had their teams so well organised to get their teams in the pool on time, and great supervision of their students, ensuring that they did not go into the children’s ‘bucket pool’.

The SOPAC staff were fantastic and looked after the clock for the day. The lifeguards supplied ice for two minor injuries on the day. The Stella student helpers did a great job of scoring all day. Referees supplied by NSW water polo refereed well all day.

The final results were:
