BBSSSA Netball Championships 2018

Friday, 27 Jul 2018 1:00 PM

Spectacular winter weather saw some great netball today at the BBSSSA championships.Nine schools were in attendance with competition across four year divisions and 36 teams.

Four schools contested the final divisional games with Mount St Benedict College featuring in all four finals. Congratulation to the three schools who eventually took home titles - Mount St Benedicts (Y7/Juniors), MacKillop (Intermediates) and St Peters (Seniors).

Thanks again to Lisette Smith (ex MSB Parent) who coordinated umpires (including two National ‘A’ badged umpires) prior to and during the event, to Cate Newman and Anthony Maxworthy from Hills District Netball Association for opening the venue for the carnival and providing a full canteen for the day and to MSB staff for manning the control room all day.

It was also great to have multiple BBSSSA Principals in attendance, thanks to Tony Gleeson (St Leos) and Maria Pearson (Mount St Benedicts) for supporting the day. BBSSSA President Amber McDonnell was also in attendance supporting all staff and students. Maria Pearson and MSB Dean of students Lamia Rockwell presented the trophies and medals.

Kel from 'Photos in a Flash' was present at the carnival and team photos with medals were taken after presentations in addition to action shots throughout the day.
