1) All participants must not attend if in the past 14 days they have:

- been unwell or had any flu-like symptoms, or

- been in contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19, or

2021 BBSSSA Swimming Championships

Event Information

Date: Thursday 11th March 2021

Venue: Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre

Commencing Time: 9:30am (TBC)

Concluding Time: 2:30pm (TBC)

Long Distance Events

The following events are not swum at the Broken Bay Carnival but WILL be swum at the NSW CCC Championships:

  • 400m Freestyle Jun/Int/Sen Boys & Girls
  • 100m Breaststroke Jun/Int/ Sen Boys & Girls
  • 100m Backstroke Jun/Int/Sen Boys & Girls
  • 100m Butterfly Jun/Int/Sen Boys & Girls

To nominate students must submit times that were swum at recognised events that can be verified on the Swimming NSW Website.
These nominations must be registered online using this form by 9am on Tuesday 9th March 2021. Successful swimmers will be notified at the BBSSSA championships.
 

The following events are not swum at the NSWCCC Carnival but WILL be swum at the NSW All Schools Championships:

  • 1500m Freestyle Open Mixed
  • 800m Freestyle Open Mixed
  • 200m Breaststroke Jun/Int/Sen Boys & Girls
  • 200m Backstroke Jun/Int/Sen Boys & Girls
  • 200m Butterfly Jun/Int/Sen Boys & Girls
  • 400m Individual Medley Jun/Int/Sen Boys & Girls
  • MultiClass 100m Backstroke – 12-15 and 16-19
  • MultiClass Boys and Girls.

To nominate students must submit times that were swum at recognised events that can be verified on the Swimming NSW Website.
These nominations must be registered online using the links on the CSNSW Sport website https://csnsw.sport/ (search under CCC swimming / long distance events) by Monday 19th April 2021.
No late entries will be accepted for any reason.  Successful swimmers will be notified by Friday 23rd April 2021.

Rules and Information:

Age Groups: 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17+ years girls and boys

Relay Age Groups: Junior (12,13,14), Intermediate (15,16) and Open (age 12 and above).

**N.B** If a student is chosen for an Open relay, they cannot swim in the Junior or Intermediate relay.

The All Age relay involves one swimmer from each age group- no swimmer can swim up an age in the all age relay.

Competitor’s age is that which she/he turns this year

Two swimmers per age per sex in ALL 50m events can be entered per school. 1 swimmer for all other events

Trophies:

Junior School Champions: 12,13 and 14 years girls and boys

Intermediate School Champions: 15 and 16 years girls and boys

Senior School Champions: 17+ years boys and girls

Overall School Champion: boys and girls

Individual Age Champions: (12,13,14,15,16,17+ years and multi-class boys and girls)

Ribbons: ribbons will be awarded to the first 3 place getters.

Competitors MUST swim in their own age group  except where Open Events are offered. 

Swim suits must be current FINA standards

Lanes are allocated according to times. ALL events will be seeded prior to the carnival.

Once competitors are in the hands of the officials they may not receive advice or coaching.

Competitors are not to leave the water or lane until told by the chief judge.

The one start rule will apply and all FINA rules for each stroke/event will be enforced.
